At Perfect Party Tents we are ALL about the team. We pride ourselves on being a fair, inclusive (and fun) employer where people WANT to go to be at work. Whether you're on the Marquee Crew or form part of our Glamping Army - we're all in it together!
We are always open to employing what some think to be the "unemployable" - by which we mean, people who worry that they won't be a good employee because of their circumstances. Because this is us!
We know what it is to be at the mercy of modern life - whether that's school phone calls and NHS appointments and demands in your life that change from day to day - because for us that has been (and still is) our normal too and we know that doesn't always work very well in a "traditional" workplace. But that doesn't mean you can't work - it just requires some flexibility - and honesty. We also know that for some of us, a deterioration in our mental health can rock up and throw a wobbler just when we'd rather it didn't too.
At Perfect Party Tents we accept that life throws many of us curveballs, bereavements, mental health struggles, illnesses, special needs and all sorts of other demands on us that frankly make finding a job and working - well - a bit of a mission! We have lots of members of our team (we include ourselves in this) who have or have had different, and often, very challenging circumstances on top of the normal day to day stuff. To us - this is all part of what makes our team fabulous. As long as the work gets done when it needs to be done by, we're not religious on start and end times and are flexible enough to manage it by communicating.
We all have our strengths and weaknesses, Heidi and Fiona literally are the opposite of each other so we know about the power of difference. We also know how important inclusivity and diversity is - and what that actually means on a day to day basis.
We will always support our teams so that they can work in a safe, supportive and positive environment - and so they can be there for those who are most important to them. We firmly believe that what you put in, you get out, and fortunately for us this has meant we have developed the best team spirit you could wish for, on foundations built on trust and support and wanting to get the job done. For some of our team, coming to work is their sanctuary and their "time out". For us it's just the best feeling knowing we're supporting people in being able to do something for themselves.
We literally have the best job/s ever!
Pictured between Heidi and I here, Sam (aka Dave) is as Dorset as it is possible to get - without being Heidi!
She's also Mum to 4 fabulous children and is a Nurse working at DCH too. She's one of the hardest working, funniest humans we know.
She loves taking her tribe off in their caravan and loves the outdoors. She's a proud farmers daughter and starts most conversations with "Yer"! You know you're in for a great day when she's in! She's been through more than any human should and yet is still one of the most positive people we know!
Sam will be working with our Weddings Team into 2024 - you lucky bunch you!
Kay, pictured left of me and Lilly is a bit of a back of house Hero to the PPT team. There is NOTHING this woman doesn't know about what state the bedding is in - where it is, how many we have, what tent set up it's going to and frankly she's just a superstar - our unsung hero! She's got 3 amazing kids and a fabulous family and is an absolute rock - but life is particularly challenging at times and she once tried to quit before she'd even started - but we weren't having any of that, and thank goodness! We wouldn't be without her!
Kay is one of our permanent fixtures and you'll be seeing her a lot with the Teepees!
Mostly addressed as Gorgeous George, this young fella has been with us for two summers now and is a bit of a superstar! This year he left us for 6 weeks (with our full support and sponsorship) so he could go off on an adventure in Borneo with the Explorer Scouts but he's never lost his touch with the tents and we are always happy to have him on the team - just don't ask him to make beds! You'll never get that king size duvet in a pillowcase George!
Pictured right with Sam here, Sarah is also a Nurse - this time working in paediatrics at DCH. Sarah has two kids and a busy life (and she's a school governor) but when not working - loves to join in with us when she can and has a cracking eye for bedmaking and making everything look pretty.
She also loves the cows - ALOT - so just make sure she's where you left her or she might be off having some bovine therapy!
We are lucky to be surrounded by many support artists. Husbands, Mums, Grandparents and Friends who all help us in their own way whether with childcare or their own expertise.
Chrissy and Ady - two of the Wooders Team who are regularly involved with helping us out. Julian - one of the Farm Guys who has also been known to help us out getting a Marquee up or down...he's also amazing with the Tractor and moving things about!
Paul (aka DJ Unicorn) who again is a Wooders regular - and an events electrician and fabulous Techy who has helped us out more times than we can remember.
Ben - Husband of Carli and generally fabulous handyman. A demon with any machine and brilliant with a Marquee too it turns out. Also, exceptionally kind!
To all of you who play a part in the Perfect Party Tents dream - thankyou! We love you so much!
